Operates under the administrative control of National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata, which functions under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Primary objective of catering to the rehabilitation needs of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in Bihar and neighbouring states and provide comprehensive rehabilitation services, including clinical, educational, and vocational interventions, along with conducting training programs for professionals and functionaries in the field of rehabilitation.
