Formerly National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD). Institute is under administrative control of the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India (GoI), there are several sections and laboratories dealing with different communicable diseases. The divisions have well equipped laboratories with modern equipments capable of undertaking tests using latest technology.
